SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates activities of workers in operating and maintaining the mountain resort by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Directs workers in projects such as regular maintenance, resort improvements, and capital projects.
2. Identifies projects needed, schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of projects, and assigns projects to specific departments.
3. Requisitions equipment and supplies needed for project completion.
4. Establishes or adjusts work procedures, recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
5. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Due to the many variables that affect Winter resort operations, such as weather and number of guests, occasionally employees may be asked to perform other duties or assist in efforts outside their primary area of responsibility as needed, including performing in any subordinate position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise a variable number of employees in the Lift Maintenance, and Lift Operations departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 21 years of age.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Experience operating Snowcats with grooming attachments.
TRAINING, CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
China Peak Mountain Resort On-Duty Skier/Snowboarder Certification to level 3 skills
China Peak Mountain Resort Certified Snowmobile Operator
China Peak Mountain Resort Certified Snowcat Operator
China Peak Mountain Resort Certified Heavy Equipment Operator
Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMAND LEVEL: 2 – MEDIUM
The physical and environmental demand level as described in Level 2 (MEDIUM) are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
